What’s on your bucketlist? Enjoy our Youtube Playlist of videos depicting our traveling Africa. Starting from South Africa in the very south, traveling north to Kenya in East Africa, and back. This African journey took us five months. Now, that’s not including the weeks of preparation time, getting our Land Rover fully kitted and such.
You’ll find us camping in wild places… Meeting amazing wildlife heroes…Watching the best wildlife… and join us during a few crazy mishaps with our Land Rover.
Get busy living or get busy dying.

The journey begins in North Carolina. After a far too long flight our Land Rover Defender TD5 is rolled out of her garage in Johannesburg and the adventure begins. Russ has great plans to modify her back end to maximize her space for our fridge, food, clothes and other necessities. It takes a couple of week to get her fully kitted by a great outfit in Benoni. Once the Landy is all ready for her overlanding trip from South Africa to Kenya and back its time to get us sorted. All those documents… from health to Carnet.
By mid October we’re finally off to find people saving wildlife, experience wild places and watch some marvelous wildlife. And of course there are mishaps and missteps along the way at borders and on rough roads.
Just in case you think we’re awfully brave… we’re not. It took us two years to get up the courage to embark on this African Safari on our own. Sure, we blamed the weather, lateness of the season or difficulty securing the Carnet for the Land Rover, but really we were just plum scared. Scared of the unknown. Scared of getting out of our comfort zone.
However, we are so super glad we did. Strange how things can be so scary. Strange how fear keeps us from so many grand adventures and experiences.

Be Brave. Only Believe. Just Do.
